Rwanda, the land of a thousand hills, is home to some of the world’s last remaining Mountain Gorillas. The Volcanoes National Park is where renowned naturalist Dian Fossey worked to protect the endangered Mountain Gorillas. The Virunga Volcanoes in the northwest are a short way from the sophisticated city of Kigali.

Adding to the monkey experience you may extend your visit and experience the Chimpanzee, or the Rwandan golden monkey. Should you wish to explore the country further you may visit one of the many national parks or spend time in the capital city viewing the art scene, the markets and learning more about the country’s genocide at the Genocide Memorial.
