Nima’s remarkable talent has been acknowledged with the People’s Choice Award, a testament to the captivating power and universal appeal of his images.
In the icy expanse of Svalbard, Nima Sarikhani’s award-winning image unfolded after three days of relentless searching for polar bears in the thick fog of Norway’s northern archipelago. Patiently observing two male bears for eight hours, Nima captured the poignant moment when a young male, just before midnight, meticulously carved a bed on a small iceberg using his powerful paws before drifting into sleep.
