Scenes From Lake Turkana – A Kenya Photo Tour Portfolio by Martin Bauer
ORYX Photo Tours’ first scheduled departure for 2020 was a cultural photography tour to Kenya’s Lake Turkana.
Found on the World Heritage list, Lake Turkana is in Kenya’s Rift Valley Province and the Kenyan tribes residing on its shores live a traditional life as hunter-gatherers and fisherman. The people found here form part of the Nilotic tribes that constitutes as the second largest pastoralist community in Kenya after the Maasais.
One of our guests, Martin Bauer, captured a beautiful and colourful portfolio but what made the trip even more special was that he celebrated his birthday on the shores of the lake with the tribe and his fellow travellers. It was definitely a one of kind birthday that was festive and jolly!
“Well, what can I say about this fantastic Kenya photo tour? Firstly, the planning from ORYX was tops and secondly, the efforts from Kirsten Frost while on the tour was super tops! The camp, and especially the food, was unbelievable given its remote location. The area and shooting sessions were great! I had the biggest surprise on my birthday, with a cake, some Prosecco and dancing with the Turkana Tribe ladies. All good fun and a day I will never forget!
I have been on a few photography tours in the past but ORYX Photo Tours took the concept to another level. I joined because of the photographic opportunities but also because I was so well taken care of from the first email I sent. A BIG thank you! I am a very happy client who is now tempted to explore more with ORYX!”
Thank you, Martin for choosing ORYX Photo Tours to make your photographic dreams come true!
