Home to arguably the world’s richest cultural landscape, India is of course also famous for its iconic mammalian megafauna, foremost of which is the regal Bengal Tiger. This safari visits the celebrated Ranthambore National Park, which is arguably the best place to photograph Tiger. Our 10 sessions in the park will give participants unbeatable opportunities to capture a diverse portfolio of Tiger images (all the while not forgetting the other resident wildlife), and we invite you to join us on this unforgettable celebration of India’s most iconic mammal!

Why this Photo Tour is for You

Destination Allure

Our photo tour spends time in Ranthambore National Park, which is arguably the best place to photograph the Royal Bengal Tiger. With Tiger numbers on the increase in the park, we stand a very good chance of capturing images of these striped beauties!

Month of Travel

Our tiger photo safari takes place at the beginning of spring when hot temperatures begin to set in. Although winter would have passed, no spring rain means foliage has not yet had time to sprout, leaving no ample shade or thick brush. Animals are more likely than not to stay near to water sources to stay cool, even Tigers!

Number of Species

Other than the “Lord of the Jungle”, the Bengal Tiger, Ranthambore plays host to a variety of wildlife, including the Sloth Bear, Chital, Indian Gazelle, resplendent Indian Peafowl and if you're lucky, the elusive Leopard.

Today is set aside as an arrival day in bustling New Delhi for ORYX’s India photo tour.
2

Day 2: New Delhi via train to Ranthambore National Park

We will catch the express train to Ranthambore National Park this morning. After arriving, we will transfer to our lodge for lunch before making our way into the park for our first photographic excursion on our tiger photography tour.

Days 3 to 7: Ranthambore National Park

Ranthambore protects a rich mosaic of deciduous woodland, bamboo thickets, lakes and marshes – prime Bengal Tiger habitat! We will use open-top jeeps to explore the park for Tigers, enjoying the areas rich wildlife as we go. Our Ranthambore Tiger tour is timed to fall over the dry season when water is a key resource to the park’s thirsty residents. Tigers regularly relax in the parks waterbodies, potentially providing us with excellent photographic opportunities as they cool off during the hottest hours of the day.

Day 8: Ranthambore and train back to New Delhi

After a final morning photographing in the park, we will catch the afternoon train back to New Delhi where this incredible Ranthambore tiger tour will sadly come to an end.
