Norway – Arctic Birds Photo Tour 2020
31 Mar 2020 – 6 Apr 2020
In Norway’s farthest northeastern corner, where hard rock meets the Barents Sea, where Norwegian culture meets Sami and Finnish cultures, lies a unique area that is known as the world’s easiest accessible Arctic birding destination.
Spring is the time when both wintering and breeding birds meet in Varanger, as the first migrants return from their wintering grounds.
On this bird photography tour we will cruise around the island of Hornøya in search of well renowned species including the Puffin, Razorbill, European Shag, Guillemot, Kittiwake and sea ducks. This is also prime time for raptors and the Hornøya bird cliff is a favoured hunting ground for both White-tailed Eagles and Gyrfalcon. On our photography tour we will also take advantage of the grand landscapes that drape the coastline of this Arctic peninsula.
