Join us on what will be an unforgettable. Kenya photography tour that will take you to the diverse ecosystems of the Masai Mara where the lives of Africa’s predators and prey unfold into one of the most amazing wildlife encounters to experience, witness and photograph on earth in the ultimate show of endurance and survival.

Why this Photo Safari is for You

Predators and Prey

With the annual Wildebeest migration having come to an end, the Mara's predators tend to be more active as they seek their next meal. The short rains begin around this season and with us travelling in the beginning of it, the grass should be short and lush, the afternoon skies become dramatic and dominated by thunderstorms with the light turning magical. Colours start to take over the usual winter browns, creating wonderful photographic visuals to enhance your portfolio!

No Single Supplement Fee

Whether solo or traveling with another, joining a tour filled with other independent, creative women is motivating and empowering as you share, learn and create experiences, memories and photographs together. Solo travellers are not charged additional fees.

Freedom to Explore

Enjoy 2 dedicated ORYX game drive vehicles for us to use as we please! Each vehicle has 3 rows, enabling you to have one to yourself to photograph from. From sunrise to sunset we can spend as much time out as we wish photographing Africa at its best!

Less Vehicle Numbers

Explore, photograph and experience the Mara in November without the crowds synonymous for the region. Capture authentic and intimate moments of the Mara’s wildlife while getting to know and understand their fascinating lives.

Guided Experience

Local knowledge of the region and its inhabitants is key to crafting the ultimate photography tour experience. Combined with the photographic expertise of your ORYX Photo Tour Leader Penny Robartes, and you are in for an adventure that will further fuel your excitement for photography and the destination.

Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi and transfer to accommodation

Today is an arrival day in the Kenyan capital for the start of our African photo safari. Penny will meet you at the hotel for dinner where she will discuss the upcoming tour with you.

Day 2: Scheduled flight from Wilson to Masai Mara National reserve

This morning after breakfast, we will be transferred to Wilson Airport, where after we catch a scheduled flight to the Musiara Airstrip located in the Masai Mara National Reserve. Upon arrival at the airstrip, our guides will collect us and take us on our first photo safari game drive as we slowly make our way to the camp. After check-in and lunch, we will depart on our long awaited first afternoon game drive on our Kenya photography tour. Our camp is specifically chosen for its superb location. Besides the natural beauty that surrounds it, such as overlooking the spectacular Mara River, this area also offers a very high concentration of wildlife activity found in the Masai Mara National Reserve.

Days 3 & 4: Masai Mara National Reserve

The next 2-days spent on our Kenya photo safari in the Masai Mara National Reserve will either be full-days out in the field, or broken up into morning and afternoon game drives depending on the heat of the day. As we have reserved the camp exclusively, we have complete freedom and flexibility as each new day arrives. The benefit of full-days out in the field during our Kenya photography tour means not having to return to camp for meals and enables us to explore some of the areas further away from camp, otherwise inaccessible.

Day 5: Road transfer to Mara North Conservancy, Masai Mara

After breakfast, our photo safari continues as we game drive to the Mara North Conservancy for 4 nights, where our camp is found on the banks of the Mara River. Ranging from secret knots of woodland to wide open plains, to caches of rocks and boulders, to flat expanses of vastness, edged by sharp inclines of escarpment, the Mara North Conservancy leaves nothing to be desired. This variation in landscape provides ample opportunities to capture the diversity that makes this ecosystem so desirable to its wildlife.

Days 6 to 8: Mara North Conservancy

As with our stay in the Mara, the next 3-days on our Women-only Kenya photography tour will either be full-days out in the field, or broken up into morning and afternoon game drives.   The Mara North Conservancy is exclusive and private, which means that only guests and lodges/camps that are based in this area are able to traverse it.   Along with the intimacy and exclusivity as mentioned above, the Mara North Conservancy takes it a step further by offering the sheer freedom of off-road driving as well as afternoon game drives going into the night. This powerful combination is the perfect scenario for wildlife photographers as we can drive directly to the sightings that interest you!

Day 9: Scheduled flight from Mara North Conservancy to Wilson

After our final morning photo safari game drive and breakfast, we will depart the Mara North Conservancy for Wilson Airport in Nairobi. This is sadly where your safari with us comes to an end, and concludes our “Women on Safari” journey! Here we will say our good-byes as you are either transferred to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your departure flight, or to your hotel accommodation.
As this is a new tour, there are no testimonials as of yet.
